History

Since April 2, 1956 the goal of the First National Bank in Taylorville has been to offer Taylorville and Christian County a full range of quality financial services. Our growth is a testimony to our commitment to the economic, cultural, and social development of our community. Since its beginning, First National Bank in Taylorville has been a financial partner to individuals, farmers, and businesses. Today, the bank remains the only truly independent community bank in Taylorville, and is owned by many of your friends and neighbors in the community.

In January of 2000, First Bancorp of Taylorville, Inc. purchased First National Bank of Mt. Auburn. Then, in May of 2008, First National Bank of Mt. Auburn merged with First National Bank in Taylorville, providing Christian County with two locations to serve all its banking needs.

First National Bank in Taylorville is dedicated to fulfilling its important role as a financial and social center in our community. We take pride in contributing to the future of Taylorville and Christian County.
